July 12TH, 2009

Pelham Fish & Game, Pelham, NH

The meeting was called to order at 12:50p by NHTA President Bob Hackett. 

 

·         NHTA President Hackett called for the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by asking Pete Tomaini to speak about departed NHTA shooters Loren Hardy and Ted Nesbaum.  Hackett called for a moment of silence for the NHTA shooters who have passed and for our military.

·         The December 5th, 2008, meeting minutes were read and unanimously accepted.

·         New Business: 

NHTA VP Dan Madden reported that Jim Gallagher had achieved the 27 yard line at Cheshire Fish & Game and presented him with a K80 glove.

·         Delegate’s Report, Phil Wright reporting:

o   Pelham F&G:  Recognizing that the team of people that helped to bring the State Shoot back to Pelham after 7 years

o   Number of Shooters:  Nationally and locally, shooting is down, the thought being that this is due to the current economic issues.

o   18 Yard Line Instituted:  For Handicap, an 18 yard line has been instituted.  The 18 yard line can only be achieved by reductions, and will not be a starting point for Handicap.

o   ATA Youth Program:  The ATA Youth Program AIM is running parallel to SCTP, which is now run by SSSF.  A call is out for someone to become the NH State Director for the AIM Program.  The youth programs help introduce the sport to youth as well as increase publicity for the sport- Phil reported that 2000 kids show up at the Grand.

o   Complaint about the Closing of West Bank:  Fred Lewis wished to lodge an official complaint about the closing of West Bank.  Phil reported that he would bring it to the attention of ATA.  He reported that it was closed by Board Decision due to it being too large for the attendance.

Having no other questions or comments, the motion to accept Delegate’s report was made and seconded and unanimously passed.

·         2009 NH State Team Announced:  See attached list.

·         Thank Yous: 

o   People expressed thanks to Pelham Fish & Game, Pelham Clays Committee and Phil Wright for their work for the State Shoot. 

o   Jason Green reported that on behalf of the club, he was thanking all the attendees, thanking everyone especially the Clays Committee and really appreciated everyone coming.

o   Ron Sevigny thanked Pete Tomaini for all of his work on the NHTA website.

·         Cards for Diane Hamlett:   Cards to show our support and care for Diane Hamlett are available to sign at the end of the meeting.

 

 

·         Delegate Election:

o   Election of Delegates:

§  The election of the NHTA Delegates to the ATA went as follows:

§  Motion to nominate Phil Wright as NHTA Delegate was made by Steve Sczechura and seconded by Jim Giarrusso.  There being no further nominations, the president directed the Secretary to cast one vote.

§  Motion to nominate Steve Sczechura as 1st Alternate Delegate was made by Leo Lessard and seconded by DaveAbdinoor.  There being no further nominations, the president directed the Secretary to cast one vote.

§  Motion to nominate Pete Tomaini as 2nd Alternate Delegate was made by Phil Wright and seconded by Dave Abdinoor.  There being no further nominations, the president directed the Secretary to cast one vote.

·         2010 Shoot Dates:

o   Tia requested that people submit the shoot dates for 2010 early so as to be able to possibly submit them into the calendar that VTTA put out last year.

·         December Meeting: 

o   The next NHTA meeting will be held on December 4th, 2009, at 6:30pm at Pelham Fish & Game.

There being no further items of business, the meeting was motioned to be adjourned by Doug Whiton and seconded by Jim Giarrusso and was unanimously agreed.  Meeting adjourned.
