OLD BUSINESS

A discussion of the 2001 state shoot ensued with those present lauding Pelham for their efforts in hosting a most enjoyable tournament under tough circumstances. Steve Szczechura spoke to Pelham’s plans to return to an 8 field format but stated that is was likely that 2002 would only see 6 program and 1 practice field. Mike McEnney requested that every effort be made not to conflict with the NY State Shoot. Peter Lester lauded shoot management for their decision to reduce the preliminary doubles to a 50 target event in order to give all competitors equal daylight. Nate Guyer praised Cheshire County Fish and Game for providing transportation to those in need.

Phil Wright announced that Richard Conner, former NHTA President, has offered to be web master for the web site while Phil was serving as ATA President. Richard has already begun updating the information on the web site.

Mike Blaisdell indicated that he had designed and procured state team pins as directed. He indicated that the cost will be about $125 per year for the next 10 years and that included a one time die charge of $350 that will not have to be paid on reorder. He passed around a sample and all present were pleased with the design and quality.

NEW BUSINESS

2002 State Shoot

Added money and trophies will remain the same.

Sue Wright and Theresa Blaisdell will be in charge of trophy selection.

Pelham Fish & Game will host the shoot on July 12th through 14th.

A motion was made by Steve Szczechura and seconded by Dan Madden to give the executive committee the authority to determine if some events are to be shot using "10 per post". Passed U.

A motion was made by Dave LaLiberte and seconded by Loren Hardy to start shooting on Friday at 8:30 AM. Passed U.

A motion was made by Jim Schmidt and seconded by Dan Madden to use the same method for pre-registration. Passed U.

A motion was made by Loren hardy and seconded by Jeff LaFleur to require the Championship Doubles entries to be cashiered by Saturday evening at a time specified in the shoot program. There will be a $5 penalty for all late entries unless it is the shooter’s first day at the tournament. Passed with 4 against.

John Giammarco moved to change the state team eligibility requirements to 2500 singles, 1500 handicap, and 1000 doubles. The motion died for lack of a second. A discussion ensued and a straw poll indicated that no change was desired at this time.

The 2002 state team was announced but formal presentation of awards will be deferred until the meeting during the state shoot in order to give the members greater recognition.

In light of increased expenses and less projected revenue form shoot fees, Kit Fox moved and Steve Szczechura seconded to raise annual dues to $5 per year. Passed by majority with Nate Guyer dissenting.

A motion was made by Dan Madden and seconded by Loren Hardy to split the office of Secretary/Treasurer. During discussion it was revealed that this had been done some years ago but that the offices were reunited due to lack of candidates. Passed U.
