12/20/2004 New Hampshire
On December 12, 2004 the New Hampshire Trapshooter’s Association held its annual meeting at the Lone Pine Hunter’s Club in Hollis, NH. The following is a synopsis of that meeting and full minutes can be found at the association’s web site (nhtrap.org). The 2004 state shoot was reviewed and recommendations put forth for improvement in 2005. Response letters were read into the record from both Minute Man Sportsman’s Club (MMSC) and Pelham Fish and Game Club (PFGC) regarding the 2005 state shoot. MMSC offered to host the shoot again if necessary. PFGC expressed interest in returning to being the host club but could not hold the shoot on its traditional date. Since dates in the New England shooting season are not very flexible, those present voted to ask MMSC to host the 2005 state shoot on its traditional date of July 8-10. A representative from PFGC was asked if the club intended to hold any ATA shoots in 2005. The response was in the affirmative and at the very least they intend to host the pre-registration shoot in late May. A committee was formed to help PFGC reinitiate their ATA registered shooting program. Peter Tomaini and Fred Lewis will look into ways that the NHTA can assist and promote Scholastic Clay Target Program in New Hampshire. Peter Tomaini will take over web master duties for the NHTA web site. Officers elected were; Steve Szczechura, President, Jeff LaFleur, Vice-President, Kim Lafleur, Secretary, Phil Wright, Treasurer.
The 2005 State Team was announced. Forty one shooters met the target qualifications and the following will be awarded pins at the state shoot in recognition of their placement in the top 10. Mike Blaisdell (captain) 94.67, Phil Wright 94.55, Shane Hakala 93.38, Forrest Cushing 93.04, Buddy Driscoll 92.41, Robert Chick Jr. 92.19, Fred Lewis 91.77, Matt Szczechura 91.63, Jeff LaFleur 91.00, Dan Madden 90.99.
High average leaders in 2004 were Mike Blaisdell in singles and doubles with 98.35 and 96.46 respectively and Shane Hakala in handicap with 93.25.
The NHTA and all shooters in New Hampshire extend their heartfelt congratulations to Mike Blaisdell for once again attaining All American status. Mike has worked hard to hone his considerable shooting skill and epitomizes the true meaning of being an All American.
